The Investigative Interviewing Course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge, understanding and skills to carry out effective investigative interviews.
The tools and techniques learned will help investigators make their investigative interviews more efficient, reducing the need to return to verify or correct material presented to the prosecutor, mitigating and identifying risk whilst adding value and enhancing personal credibility and confidence.
By the end of this four-day module, participants will be able to:
Identify the Legal responsibilities of the interviewing officer
Demonstrate the ability to plan and conduct effective interviews with witnesses
Understand and demonstrate the PEACE framework of investigative interviewing
Understand and demonstrate the Cognitive Interview model
Understand and demonstrate the Conversation management model of interviewing
This four-day couse is $1,500 per person plus expenses.
On successful completion and application through AELERT training, students can apply for “statement of attainment” for two units of competency:
PSPREG411A Gather information through interviews, and
PEPREG407B Produce formal record of interview
